MoniGran is an anticoccidial agent containing 20% monenzine in the form
of sodium salt. It is indicated for the prevention of coccidiosis of broiler chickens and repair
young chickens, turkeys on fattening.
An ionophoric antibiotic, it has a wide spectrum of coccidiostatic
action. It is active against all types of coccidia parasitizing birds, including
Eimeria necatrix, Eimeria tenella, Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria brunetti, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria
mivati, Eimeria mitis, Eimeria rgaesoh.
The mechanism of action is a violation of the transfer of sodium and potassium cations into
oocyst, which leads to the death of coccidia. When administered orally to birds, monenzin
is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and has its effect on the mucous and
submucosal membranes. It is excreted unchanged from the body of birds,
mainly with droppings.
